My #1 Self-Care Tip for When You're Feeling Anxious


Hey Everyone! Whether you live alone or with friends, no one will support you as much as you! You need to be your number one supporter! Whenever the coldness of the winter season creeps upon you, see my #1 self-care tip for when you're feeling anxious:


-PUT ON AN OVERSIZED HOODIE-



Cold weather and diminishing sunlight are factors that provoke feelings of anxiety in the winter. Many students are under pressure with mid-terms, final presentations, and struggle to find a healthy work-life balance. These factors can cause a decrease in motivation in students. Wearing a hoodie can decrease stress and anxiety levels by doing the following:


  • Creates a safe space–our minds connect feelings of safety with comfort. When we are comfortable, we create a space more conducive to productivity.


  • Improves concentration–when our minds are racing, hoods narrow our field of vision, forcing us to focus on the task at hand.


  • Boosts morale–wearing a hoodie with your favourite team, music band, or game can increase your confidence and motivation.


Of course, I recommend wearing a green sweater if you can. Green represents the conscious choice you're making to take care of yourself!
